Home Business Mistakes- Which ones do you make?

Posted by worldlyrocks on January 16, 2009

By Daniel McGonagle

There are more and more people coming online every day trying to earn money online, especially with the global downturn regarding the economic outlook.

When more people come online some “new” programs arise and it’s the new-comers to the internet marketing scene that get caught up by blatant false statements made my promoters of certain programs.

One of the most common types of programs are the ones that promise you all you have to do is get other newcomers to join your free site via your referral link, then once they are in the system, they are encouraged to join several other monthly programs in order to be an affiliate.

How is this a business?

Do you really want a business or do you just want to promote something as an affiliate in order to earn some sort of income?

That’s a hard question to answer if you are still trying to figure out what exactly it is you want to do online…

However, one of the top internet marketing mistakes is building someone else’s list for them instead of your own.

What many people don’t know is that the successes and riches being reported by certain affiliates are either not true, or only possible because they built their list up first.

It is natural to make mistakes when you’re first starting out with something new like an internet business, but you need to be aware of what those mistakes are, and realize how to move past them.

As mentioned above, building someone else’s list is one of the most common mistakes new-comers to internet marketing make. There are many other mistakes you will make along the way, so please be aware of that and become a student of this business and industry, and learn from what does and does not work.

1WayLinks Review-Jonathan Leger’s Backlinking Program

Posted by worldlyrocks on January 12, 2009

By Daniel McGonagle

The 1WayLinks program uses WordPress blogs. This is a review of  Jonathan Leger’s 1WayLinks automated backlinking service.  Members can post up to 750 backlinks per month. It is  affordable. The questions remain: Is it powerful? Is it useful?

Designed by Jonathan Leger, 1waylinks is a relatively new  program on the scene of automated backlinking services. By  applying the technology of WordPress blogs members can use up to  750 one-way backlinks to their sites each month. There are more  than 1000 blogs in this well monitored network.

The way it works is really quite simple, a lot of people wish  they had thought of it too. As a member, you write an article  with up to 3 of your chosen links and keywords and submit it to  the program. Your article is posted then on the blogs of other  members. The links are active and, of course, point back to your  chosen site – backlinks. You decide how many articles you will  write each month and can spread them throughout the month or  write them all at once. It does not make much sense to write  only one article when you can avoid duplicate content by writing  more than one.

There are some limitations. It only works with WordPress blogs  which you host and set up to meet the system requirements. As  one person said, ‘you must host to post’. However, there is no  requirement for which hosting company you choose.

I made my choice as a Beta tester to set up a separate blog that  I only use for this purpose. I was concerned about potentially  irrelevant material on my main blog. As it happens, the content  is widely varied but carefully monitored to prevent spam, or  offensive material of any kind. Lively discussions in the forum  have clarified what constitutes potentially offensive material  among the members.

This domain that you purchased just for this donor blog could be  considered a drawback to 1WayLinks. Not because you spent the  small amount of money for the domain that you don’t really  “need”, but because you know the other members will also be  using these donor or surplus content blogs, the perceived value  of the blogs could be diminished.

* Who is going to read this material?
* How will it get indexed?
* And who will care?
* How can it help you?
* Will the links ever get counted?
* Why write “junk” content that no one will see?

Those were some of my concerns. However, the fact is that with a  good ping list you can get your WordPress site indexed quite  easily and your links will be counted. Using donor blogs with  low page ranks might still be a drawback to the long range  effectiveness of 1Waylinks.net. Having more incoming than  outgoing links is not rated highly by most search engines. These  blogs are specifically designed to have a lot of incoming links.

What is remarkable is the articles. For people who are writing  specifically to get links to an unknown audience, expecting no  one to even find the blog or read the article, these blogs have  had a wide variety of interesting, though sometimes unusual  content. Apparently these bloggers do not like to write junk  links. I have actually had people compliment me on the diversity  of content on my blog! In addition, more than 10% of these  unknown readers have made the blog a favorite of theirs. My  donor blog has hundreds of visitors each month and I have done  nothing to promote it.

What is more important, the sites I am promoting in my articles  are indeed moving up in their search engine rankings. That is  enough for me to say 1WayLinks is a program with more merit than  it might seem to have at first glance. It is useful and  affordable though there are other backlink services with more  powerful links. If your goal is lots of links rather than  specific high ranking links then the services available from the  program at 1Waylinks.net may be just what you need for your  business.

Review – 1WayLinks.net

Posted by worldlyrocks on December 4, 2008

This review of 1WayLinks.net is from the point of view of a very satisfied Beta tester. I could have written it sooner but now YOU too can benefit from Jonathan Leger’s creative approach to backlinking.

In addition, I have a few more weeks of working directly with it and participating in the forum to learn even more effective ways of applying its power for the best SEO- Search Engine Optimization – results.

You see, Jonathan Leger has a solid background in SEO and several other products that have been successes for him and for his members.  So as a niche affiliate marketer, I am eager to learn how to improve my sites’ popularity and ranking with search engines. I am pleased to say that more than one site is ranked on the first page of Google for its chosen keywords. And certainly 1WayLinks has been partly responsible for that.

You can join 1Waylinks from HERE after you have checked it out for yourself. You can also see more review information at the sites listed in the sidebar.  The next post will explain some of the things I learned in the forum that improved my skills with the program.
